It is the middle of August. Or a grey Wednesday in November. Neither is a reason not to ski. CARVE is Bulgaria’s first indoor ski and snowboard center — an endless slope simulator in the heart of Sofia, open 365 days a year. The 9-metre revolving slope runs at speeds up to 25 km/h on a 14° incline — which instructors say feels significantly faster in practice. Each 60-minute session alternates 10 minutes on the slope with 10 minutes of rest, three times through. All equipment and protective gear is included. After the slope, the mountain bar is waiting.

⛷️ How the Slope Works

The Infinite Descent simulator is a revolving belt slope — you ski or snowboard downhill while the surface moves beneath you, creating a continuous descent on a fixed footprint. The slope is 9 metres long and 5 metres wide, with a 14-degree incline. Sessions are 60 minutes total, structured as three rounds of 10 minutes on the slope alternating with 10 minutes of rest. This format is deliberate: the intensity of slope time is high, and the rest intervals are necessary. Everything — skis or snowboard, boots, helmet, and protective gear — is provided. Bring long socks. You can use your own boots if you have them.

🍷 The Mountain Bar

The après-ski atmosphere that usually requires a two-hour drive to the mountains is available here, in Sofia, on a Tuesday afternoon. The mountain bar serves mulled wine, signature cocktails, grog, mursal tea, and alpine-style snacks. Open daily from 08:00 until midnight (09:00 on weekends). Multiple reviewers describe staying on after their session just for the bar — even people in the group who did not ski. Worth visiting in its own right, especially in winter.

The entire slope can be rented for one hour at €92.03 (€82.83 with SoFun Card) — your group gets the slope to yourselves, no waiting, your own schedule. Which option should I book for a first visit?
The "First Visit" group training is designed exactly for this — it is the cheapest entry point (€18.40 ski / €21.47 snowboard, €16.56 / €19.32 with SoFun Card), includes all equipment, and includes an instructor. It is available for both children and adults at the same price.
What do I need to bring?
Just a pair of long socks. All ski and snowboard equipment, boots, helmet, and protective gear is included in the price. You can bring your own boots if you prefer (valid for boots only).
Is it suitable for complete beginners?
Yes — CARVE was designed for everyone from total beginners to professional athletes. The First Visit group training with a certified instructor is the standard starting point. Children under 7 begin with individual training; the instructor will confirm when they can move to group sessions.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellations or non-attendance less than 24 hours before the training incur a fee of €7.67 for group training and €15.34 for individual training. Please cancel in advance if your plans change.
Can I rent the slope for a private group event?
Yes — one-hour slope rental is €92.03 (€82.83 with SoFun Card). Your group has the slope entirely to yourselves. Great for corporate events, birthdays, and large groups. Ask us when booking.
